Long-term change will only be a natural consequence when we create an enabling environment. Good communication is vital to the success of cooperation, particularly for a coalition with numerous and diverse stakeholders. The ABC Working Group focuses on this, and works to create a communication strategy for creating a multi-stakeholder level dialogue to address issues across the entire sanitation value chain. This would include provision of inputs into the content and form of the ISC web assets, the written literature, the events convened by ISC as well as recommendations for external forums where ISC could participate. One of the key deliverables for this Working Group is to input into and assist with the formulation of sanitation proposals that ISC can use to support wide uptake of sanitation projects by corporates. As the advocacy component is the key factor in bringing awareness and ownership among users, this task force looks at barriers, motivators as well as lack of information, bearing in mind the distinct sub-universes that exist in the form of rural/urban, Public/Private etc. With this background, the group works to mobilize the peer- to-peer and the community level dialogue on BUMT through focussed communication.
