The Task Force on Government Engagement works towards two broad mandates:

  1. Help the various non-government players in sanitation space to create partnerships and dialogue with government
  2. Help the government to scale up their efforts on sanitation by channelizing the power of multiple stakeholders

At the central level ISC has actively engaged with Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, the nodal Ministry for the Swachh Bharat Mission, facilitating multi-stakeholder action on sanitation while focussing on enhancing private sector engagement. Realising that the state is the unit for successful implementation to the SBM ISC has embarked on state level engagement in Rajasthan and Maharashtra with the aim to introduce new partner and scale up work of the existing ones. State governments of Assam and Telangana have also been supported by creating corporate engagement platforms.
