BackISC-FICCI SANITATION AWARDS
Awards are a testament to a company’s work ethic and the quality of its services and achievements. They validate their leadership in the market and prove that they are ahead of the curve. They endorse start-ups and NGOs efforts and help them on their journey to scale up and raise finances. The India Sanitation Coalition (ISC)-FICCI Awards are evidence of the undeniable success of these awards in achieving these outcomes through their past six editions.
The ISC-FICCI Sanitation Awards are the key awards in the sanitation sector and have over six years established their leadership at a national level.
The current edition of the ISC-FICCI Sanitation Awards felicitates winners across ten categories, shortlisted from many entries that the ISC secretariat receives every year, in response to its call for nominations. These winners are decided following a two-stage jurying process based on Padma Vibhushan, Dr R A Mashelkar’s ASSURED framework.
Dr R A Mashelkar, FRS, National Research Professor, has been the chairperson of the jury since the inception of these awards in 2017.
The ISC-FICCI Sanitation Awards reward excellence in multiple categories. These are as under—
1. Best Corporate Initiative in Sanitation (CSR): Small and Large (2 awards)
2. Best Non-profit engagement model in Sanitation: Rural and Urban (2 awards)
3. Best Communication in Sanitation: Traditional and digital (2 awards)
4 . Best Innovative Financial Accessibility model for WASH: Large financial institutions, microfinance institutions, banks, and government financial institutions (4 awards)
5 . Best Engagement Model in Sanitation by a Social Enterprise / Start-up
6 . Special recognition award for government -
- Special Recognition for the State that undertakes maximum GPs under the Lighthouse Initiative (LHI)
- Special Recognition for the State with the highest number of ODF+ villages within the LHI (Lighthouse Initiative) framework
7 . Best Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) Model: Urban and Rural (2 awards)
8 . Best Skilling Initiative for Sanitation
9 . Excellence in Work for Upliftment of Sanitation Workers
10 . Women Changemakers in Sanitation
These awards matter because they recognize both the key actors and sector practitioners besides the programme stakeholders and the companies/institutions that are innovating and adapting at a time of unprecedented developmental change in India. By recognizing and showcasing the awardees, ISC constantly strives to help them expand their footprints and inspire others to follow in their footsteps .
